• Found a RSS feed with the package releases of octave-forge and wrote scripts to build the package database using that feed (contrib/manage_pkgdb.py and contrib/manage_info.py)
• Moved away from the Python libraries to work with Git repositories and wrote a simple class to call the git binary directly. It's fair enough for what I needed.
• Moved the package database to GitHub and rewrote the module g-octave.fetch to get the package database from GitHub, using the snapshot tarballs.

July 31

• Did some changes to remove the PySVN dependency.
• Rewrote the command-line option --list.
• Fixed the eclass to remove the forced strip from mkoctfile calls and more small fixes.
• Added the command-line option --oneshot.
• Did a clean up on the sources.

August 1

• Added the command-line option --list-raw.
• Wrote a new script to do automated build tests, using XML-RPC (contrib/tinderbox.py).

• Added metadata.xml to the ebuild directories.

• Did a lot of tests with some matlab packages that are supposed to works with octave.

• Implemented the search of octave-forge packages (-s/--search command-line option).

July 22

• Started removing the implicit hardmask of live versions. The users will need to use the configuration file to say if they want to create the ebuild for the live versions or not (use_scm option). Additionally, the users can disable or enable the installation of the live version using the command line (--scm and --no-scm options). As part of this change of behavior, the user will still need to unmask the package on the package manager configuration files, in order to install the live version of the package.

July 23

• g-octave stuff got new home (thanks ferringb) and a new domain name (http://www.g-octave.org). Spent the day configuring the trac instance, not done yet, but already works fairly.

July 24

• Fixed some bugs with the automated tests, that broke with the new trac instance. Some work on this is still needed.

July 26

• Finished the work to remove the implicit hardmask of live versions and the implementation of the new behavior.

• Changed g-octave to only fetch a package database directly from the mirrors if the user is with the live version of g-octave installed.

• Fixed the ebuilds to g-octave 0.2 and to add the pysvn dependency.
